Why does my acne
keep coming back?

If you’ve tried product after product and it never sticks, the problem usually isn’t which product. It’s that no one’s found the actual cause yet.

Waking up, looking in the mirror, and seeing it again: that specific mix of frustration and insecurity is real. Wai Jun described trying different products from drugstores for four to five years: some relief, then it always came back.

What Actually Happened

Four to five years of switching. Then a real answer.

Wai Jun, a Quantity Surveyor, spent four to five years cycling through drugstore products: some relief, then the acne always came back. No one had ever actually diagnosed what was driving it.

I recovered quite a bit within one month. After two or three months, there really was no more acne. I think we shouldn’t give up: finding the right one is really important.

Within one month, real improvement. Within two to three months, the acne was essentially gone, after years of it always coming back.

The difference wasn’t a stronger product. It was the first real diagnosis he’d actually had.

Why This Keeps Happening

Treat the trigger, not just the breakout

Every time a product seems to work, then stops, it feels like bad luck or the wrong brand. Usually it’s neither. It’s that the product was treating a symptom (the breakout) without ever addressing what triggers it in the first place. The same barrier logic that governs sensitivity and pigmentation applies directly here too.

What Actually Contributes

Real factors, not one universal answer

Hormonal shifts, a compromised skin barrier, and humidity and heat (genuinely relevant in Malaysia specifically), which affect oil production and how skin reacts to product buildup. These are real, named factors, not a claim that any one of them is “the” answer for everyone. Everyone’s skin is different, and that’s not a caveat. It’s the actual point.

Our Approach

Diagnose first. Recommend second.

Same barrier-first, root-cause approach as everything else we do. A real diagnosis identifies what’s actually driving the recurrence for your specific skin, not a generic “acne routine.” From there, the right products, not more products, follow.
